The MSVAP Mission Statement (Why We Exist)

The mission of MSVPA is to ensure high levels of growth and learning for all.

The MSVPA Vision Statement (What We Must Become)

The vision of MSVPA is to function as a professional learning community providing the highest quality arts integrated education for all.

Our work is driven by these four questions.

  1. What do we want students to know and be able to do?
  2. How will we know if each student has learned it?
  3. What will we do if they haven’t learned it?
  4. What will we do if they have learned it?

Collective Commitments/Values  (How We Behave)

  1. We will be a positive, contributing member of our collaborative teams.
  2. We will work interdependently with our colleagues to achieve our goals and hold each other mutually accountable.
  3. We will teach the essential learnings of our agreed-upon curriculum, unit by unit.
  4. We will develop local common formative assessments to monitor each students learning.
  5. We will use our common formative assessments data to drive intervention and extension opportunities.
  6. We will use evidence of student learning to inform and improve our practices and to better meet the needs of individual students.
  7. We will provide parents with resources, strategies, and information to help students succeed.

School Wide Goals (How We Mark Our Progress)

  1. To increase the Weighted Achievement score by 5% as measured by ACT Aspire assessments in both Math and ELA.
  2. Decrease the number of students scoring in the In Need of Support Category in both ELA and Math by 20%.
  3. To improve students with disabilities Value Added Growth Score to 80%
  4. Increase the number of students reading on grade level by 15%(Ready or Exceeding) as measured by SQSS.
  5. Increase the number of students achieving in Science by 10% as measured by SQSS.
  6. Decrease the number of students having 10+ excused and unexcused absences.
  7. Increase physical activity minutes by 10 minutes per school day.
  8. Increase community/parental involvement in decisions made regarding health, wellness, and safety education.
